Smoking Cessation Advice

Merchiston Surgery is contacting all our patients, recorded as smokers, to make them aware of the local specialist support available to help individuals stop smoking. Although the Practice is currently unable to offer a stop smoking service, support and treatment is widely available locally from qualified practitioners trained in smoking cessation at a number of different locations including Health Centres and Pharmacies. If you have already stopped smoking, please inform the Practice and we will update your records.

You are four times more likely to stop smoking with support and treatment than stopping smoking alone.
