smoking and spirometry (lung function testing). They will also advise on
    foreign travel and vaccinations.

COMMUNITY NURSES

District Nurses help with nursing care for those patients confined to
their homes. They may be contacted direct between 12.00 pm and 1.00 pm

ringing the surgery on 823307.

CHILD HEALTH SURVEILLANCE

The Practice is registered to carry out child surveillance which can identify any developmental needs. A clinic is held each Tuesday between 1.30 pm and 3.30 pm for regular weighing of babies and general health advice for children under the age of 5 years.

BLOOD TESTS

  • Sue Blackburn

Our Phlebotomist is able to take blood. Unfortunately we are unable to take blood from children under the age of 16. The Phlebotomy Department at the GWH can no longer continue to offer GP or INR patients the use of their facilities as an alternative to attending their own surgeries. Provision has been made to see certain category of patients (difficult to bleed & paediatrics). Please ring the department for an appointment – you will need to take with you a “difficult to bleed” referral letter from the nurse/GP. The department is open from 08.30 am to 4.15 pm Monday to Friday. The telephone number to ring, to obtain an
    appointment, is (01793) 605041.

PHYSIOTHERAPIST

  • We have access to physiotherapy at the Great Western Hospital and also limited sessions performed at the surgery. Referral to physiotherapy must be made by the GP.

PSYCHOLOGISTS

  • Tia Racheal and Tracey McGrory

A Counselling Service is available on referral by a Doctor.

MIDWIFE

  • Amanda Lennon RGN RM

The Midwife will contact you soon after your Doctor has confirmed your pregnancy. She will take details to book you in for the hospital or place of delivery. She will then see you in her clinic on either a Tuesday or Wednesday and at antenatal classes. When you come home from hospital she will visit you and your baby.
